The Role 

The Commercial Assortment Supervisor is responsible for optimizing product selection across store clusters by analyzing space capacity, customer profiles, and product lifecycle stages. This role ensures the right products are available in the right stores, maximizing sales and customer satisfaction, while working cross-functionally with merchandising, space planning, and store operations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborates with the Commercial department to apply clustering policies based on sales and store capacity  
  • Responsible for the allocation of floorplan space per category and store cluster, ensuring efficient use of retail space, and managing the listing and delisting of products within their assigned store groups
  • Resolves planogram and space optimization opportunities through stores clustering to maximize sales performance and improve customer satisfaction 
  • Develops inventory policies to optimize stock levels and product availability 
  • Monitors store product replenishment and replacement strategy to maintain optimal inventory levels 
  • Conducts sales analysis and stock evaluations aligned with store capacity parameters 
  • Evaluates inventory levels prior to replenishment in order to mitigate the risks of overstock and over-assortment 
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate the effectiveness of demand planning strategies 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail merchandising, category management, space planning, or store operations, with a focus on assortment planning, floorplan management, and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, business intelligence software).
  • Understanding of space planning principles and software (e.g., JDA Space Planning, Blue Yonder) will be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of customer segmentation and clustering methodologies.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management concepts, including product introduction and discontinuation processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, including product transitions.  

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience with advanced assortment planning and floorplan optimization software and techniques.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and their impact on product listing/delisting decisions.
  • Experience in a multi-store retail environment.
